project brief: redesign the Wikipedia | group project
Our goal was to bring the offline experience of a knowledge bank closer to the online experience. In order to resurrect this vernacular, we are proposing to apply hierarchy through spatial relatives online by making the search result mobile within the page.
These are my initial individual sketches before collaborating on the final Wikipedia redesign as a group.
This composition is to support the idea of having control over the search options. Under search preferences, one can choose to organize the page of the search by authorship, relevance, and amount of info. They can also control the search amount that pops up. If one chooses sort by: amount of info, and set the search amount to 0-3, the largest boxes that is displayed would have the most amount of information. The searches are also separated by content. Like the first composition, there is also a research library, online librarian, search history and image bank.

The composition below relies on a grid system in order to navigate the page. Also, by rolling over to the search result, the navigator has the option of reading more or less. If the navigator likes the information/article, they have the choice of placing it in the library above. The option is given to turn on or off the Research Library, Online Librarian, Search History and Image bank. Since the Wikipedia can provide an overload of information, the purpose of this layout is to allow the viewer to have the option of reading more or less.
