project brief: show “discovery” through sound

The discovery of SANTA MONICA UNCOVERED resulted from a systematic way the sounds of Santa Monica was cut and compiled. The longer one listens, the more they “discover” what these sounds are. A selection of sounds were put through a process where the sounds are cut from shorter to longer pieces. The space between these clips become shorter and shorter by the end of the clip. By juxtaposing these two constraints, the listener is able to discover Santa Monica.
